BODY HOUSE– 2016
Television Broadcast (in Dutch)
The Body House has been broadcasted on Dutch television in the KRO/NCRV television programme Binnenstebuiten.
Since its delivery in 2005, the house has been featured widely and stayed in focus for already a decade. Exact date of broadcasting will follow.
BODY HOUSE
The Body House is a private urban house in Rotterdam built on one of the “Do-it-Yourself” plots located at Katendracht next to the Phenix Food Factory and Deliplein, the new cultural and food hotspots in Rotterdam and part of the ‘Kop van Zuid’ redevelopment.
The Body House is an urban stack of three small and very different projects.
It is an adventurous house described in FRAME (The Great Indoors, Jan/Feb 2009) as “a web of sharp angles, stunning stairways and deep ravines”. To read more, click here.

THE YELLOW – 2013
Entry for the Salt Lake City 69-70 competition.
A sub cultural network like a maze, allowing tourists, visitors and citizens to enjoy a trip, a cultural safari, a journey with unexpected cultural programs over roofs and through hidden courtyards. Creative industries are linked through The Yellow that traces the ruptures and gaps of the 69-70 block.

Today the site of the Pruitt-Igoe housing project is an overgrown brown field forest. As the legacy of Pruitt-Igoe is critically examined again, the site itself beckons. Can this site be liberated from a turbulent and mythologized past through re-imagination and community engagement?

LEIDSCHE RIJN CITY CENTER – 2000
A new city center for the 80.000 inhabitants of Leidsche Rijn, West of Utrecht.
A city floor with a high density urban tissue, as vehicle free pedestrian paradise, is suspended over an infrastructural breeder sheet with perfect logistic qualities for all kinds of public transport, vehicles and large warehousing for retail programs that usually locate in the urban peripheries. Infrastructure is unarmed through absorption within the dense urban tissue.

INFRASCAPE – BREDA SANDS – 1999
Brabant is an urban vague, a haze of urban fall out. The province of North Brabant, alarmed by the doubling of urban material that repeats itself every 50 years, some agencies asked to come up with ideas.
This location for a new high speed train station marks an embedded second city center with landscape characteristics for the City of Breda and connect the South Netherlands with the airports of Zaventem and Schiphol.

COMPRESSOR – 1999
This project addresses high density programming of nodes in infrastructural networks.
An unprecedented volume on the North leg of the Rotterdam A13-A20 Kleinpolderplein intersection is carrier of new kinds of urbanism and infrastructural interventions. The Compressor consists of stacked slabs of city, reaching around 300-meters.
